HS Cross Country Competes at State

Six members of the Grace Prep High School Cross Country team competed at the TAPPS 4A State meet on Monday, November 2. This year the meet was held at the Midway ISD Cross Country course in Hewitt.

The boys’ team finished seventh for its best finish at the state meet since 2007. The squad was led by junior Luke Moore who earned all-state honors with his eighth place finish. Also competing were freshmen Tucker Franklin (26th) and Jamie Clark (49th), senior Ben Jones (74th), and junior Brendan Chambers (76th).

Junior Lydia Curreri was the lone girl competing for the Lions on Monday. She finished the 2-mile course in 12:20.8, notching a state runner-up finish and all-state accolades.

Moore and Curreri were also named to the TAPPS Academic All-State honor list.

The team is coached by Sumer Jordan.

Junior Luke Moore finished 8th in the state meet.

Junior Lydia Curreri held off a Bishop Gorman runner to finish 2nd at state.
