Junior High Activities and Organizations

  • Drama Productions – Junior High students have several opportunities through the school year to participate in drama, both through the Drama class and also in supporting roles when not in the class.
  • Girls of Grace – On a monthly basis, Grace Prep Ladies build into the lives of our Junior High girls. The 7th and 8th grade groups meet separately for a time of fellowship, teaching, and sharing.
  • Drumline – Junior high students are welcome to participate in our drumline which started in 2015. Experienced and novice drummers alike are welcome to join this group which helps with school spirit at home football games and pep rallies.
  • SWAG (Seeking Wisdom And God) – This monthly gathering is for all junior high students. The students have fun as they are led by Grace Prep high school juniors and seniors in high energy games. The students receive a brief message from an adult to help them in their faith. In addition, the high school leaders join with the junior high students in smaller gender groups for discussion.
  • Junior High Student Council – Junior high students are selected to the four officer positions (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Chaplain) and meet regularly to plan social and service opportunities for the junior high. The officers work with the rest of the junior high student council (which is open to any junior high student that wishes to participate) to further plan and carry out these activities.
  • Chess Club – Students play chess regularly during lunch (not competitively).
  • Homecoming Week – Homecoming Week is a highlight for our students. While the High School students creatively and elaborately decorate the hallways, the junior high students enjoy the homecoming week activities, especially the themed dress up days.
  • 7th Grade Texas History Course Trip – 7th grade students enrolled in the Texas History class get to enjoy a fun filled educational adventure to several of the key Texas historical sites.

High School Organizations

  • High School Student Council – Students are selected to the six officer positions (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chaplain and Historian) and meet regularly to plan activities and address issues for the student body. The officers work with the rest of the high school student council (which is open to any high school student that wishes to participate) to further plan and carry out these activities.
  • Key Club – Key Club is a service program for high school students. It is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through service to others. Recent activities have included a Thanksgiving Food Drive for Mission Arlington, Christmas gift collection and distribution through the inner city ministry of Beautiful Feet, Salvation Army Christmas bell ringing, Run 4 Bibles, and Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast.
  • National Honor Society – The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes – FCA gathers people together for the advancement of the gospel in both word and action in the lives of our students. Every high school student is welcome at Grace Prep FCA events, even if they are not athletes.
  • Class Officers – The senior, junior, and sophomore classes each elect six officers to represent them and provide student leadership throughout the school year. Each class elects a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chaplain, and Historian.
  • Freshmen Leadership Council – Every freshmen is encouraged to participate in the FLC. Under the guidance of Grace Prep adults, freshmen get to explore their own capabilities and safely venture into service and leadership opportunities.
  • Spanish Club – Students enjoy fellowship together while growing in an understanding of the Spanish language and accompanying cultures.
  • American Sign Language Club – Students enjoy fellowship together while growing in an understanding of ASL and its relevance in today society.
  • Business and Investing Club – An accomplished businessman and entrepreneur, who is also a Grace Prep dad, casts a vision for our students that is both far reaching and also practical.
  • Chess Club – Students play chess regularly during lunch (not competitively).
GPA partners with parents to provide a Christ-centered, college preparatory education where students are allowed to further develop their God-given talents and virtues and become college-worthy character witnesses for Christ.
