On March 3rd twelve Grace Prep AP Calculus students competed in the 17th annual Calculus Bowl Competition hosted by UTA.  Dressed up as Calculus Cowboys, and cheering each other on with enthusiasm, the students worked as a team of 5 to answer Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 questions. With an average of merely 20 seconds to read and solve each problem the students had to race against 23 other local public and private high schools to solve each problem. The competition was fast pace but the students excelled and responded with great teamwork and problem solving! They represented Grace Prep well and came away with 2 trophies; a Spirit award for their costumes and enthusiasm and a Calculus Bowl Finalist trophy! Top it all off with free pizza and a science show put on by the UTA Science Ambassadors and it was quite a memorable day! Dr. Larrissa Owen – AP Calculus Teacher
