HS Cross Country Finishes 14th at State

Congratulations to the Grace Prep High School Boys Cross Country team on its 14th place finish at Monday’s TAPPS 4A State Meet held at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco. Led by freshmen Luke Moore, who finished 33rd, the Lions improved on last year’s placing at the state meet. Also scoring for the Lions were junior Drew Moore (41st), senior Carson Pinon (72nd), sophomore Ben Jones (105th), and freshman Jeremy Burris (114th). Freshman Brendan Chambers (130th) and sophomore Brenden Angus (144th) rounded out the team coached by Melcon Jones and Patrick Leito.

Junior High Volleyball Tournament This Saturday

The Grace Prep Junior High Volleyball teams will host their End of Season Tournament this Saturday, October 20. Matches begins at 8:00 a.m., with play continuing throughout the day, and concluding with the Gold Finals at approximately 7:00 p.m. All-day passes will be available at a cost of $10 for adults and $5 for students. (Remember, entrance with your GPA ID does not include tournaments and playoff games.) Come help the Lions finish their season on a winning note!

Hedman and Pinon Named Commended Students

Grace Prep is proud to announce that Max Hedman and Carson Pinon both received Letters of Commendation this week in recognition of their outstanding academic promise in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. More than 1.6 million students took the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Of those 1.6 million students, Max and Carson placed in the top 5%. As one spokesperson for the National Merit Board commented, “These students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success and represent a valuable national resource.” Grace Prep congratulates and recognizes the academic achievements of Max and Carson. Well done, young men. Your family, school, and community are very proud.
