Starting off North Texas Giving Day on September 19 with outstanding music, words and prayers from Priscilla Shirer, and the encouragement of Bob Goff was awesome! Finishing September 20, as back-to-back-to-back People’s Choice Award winners and $186,000 in donations was incredible! Thank you to all who donated, and to those who came to Levitt Pavilion for the Arlington Gives! Concert (a little rain can’t dampen the Lion Nation spirit).

The Grace Prep junior high students shared time as a group recently as they traveled to Mt. Lebanon Camp in Cedar Hill for their fall retreat. The group was led in worship by 7th grader Miles Canington and his father, while Matt Hunter, youth pastor at Fielder Church, gave the message. The students had time to grow closer with friends, as a class, and junior high as a whole! In addition to worship and group times, the students went zip-lining and participated in a challenge course. Most importantly, though, they took time to practice “Loving Everybody, Always” – the theme of this year’s retreat!
Over 200 Grace Prep high school students recently took part in the annual fall retreat; this year held at Riverbend Retreat Center outside Glen Rose. The students and staff shared time together in large group and smaller class-level gatherings, as well as just hanging out. Every meal included a “PAWS moment” – a student-led skit that focused on the retreat’s theme of “Everybody Always”. During the retreat, students embraced the opportunity to share during devotion times, lead during chapel services and actively participate in guest speaker Pastor Mike Satterfield’s sermon. The retreat also gave students a chance to get to know their classmates better.

Throughout the school year, Grace Prep recognizes a senior class student with the “Tillie Burgin Servant Leadership Award”. This month, we recognize senior Morgan Reynolds. Morgan exemplifies servant leadership qualities by putting God first and serving others. She also demonstrates integrity, compassion for others, teamwork, and is a trusted mentor to many students at Grace Prep. It is a long-held tradition at Grace Prep to recognize outstanding members of the senior class with this prestigious award, which is selected by faculty and staff.
