Sue Ball

Sue began teaching at Grace in 2007. She has a BS in horticulture from Kansas State University. She also worked toward a master’s degree at the University of Kansas, acquiring certification in special education while there. She and her husband David have five children. Kristen (class of ’03), Stacy (class of ’05), Bekah (class of ’07), and Brady (class of '10) all graduated from Grace. Their son Bryan is a senior here.

Kathy Blass

Kathy began teaching at Grace in 2004. She has a BS in engineering from Virginia Tech. She and her husband Jay have two sons, both Grace Prep graduates. JJ graduated in 2009 and attends Abilene Christian University. Jimmy graduated in 2010 and attends Louisiana State University.

Tamra Brudi
7th grade English and Social Studies

After several years of substitute teaching at Grace and other schools, Tamra joined our faculty in the fall of 2009. She holds a BBA in marketing from the University of Texas in Arlington. She and her husband John have two children, both at Grace. Josh will be a junior this year, and Emily will be in the 5th grade.
"After nine wonderful years of being a parent at Grace and two inspiring years of teaching here, I have totally fallen in love with the staff, students, and parents at Grace Prep. Jenny Craig
Senior English

Jenny has taught at various levels in our English department since 2006. With a BA in English, she has taught Literary Explorations, British Literature, and now World Literature at Grace Prep. She and her husband Dane have three beautiful daughters. McKenzie graduated from Grace and currently attends DBU. McLayne (a sophomore) and McKayla (a 7th grader) currently attend Grace Prep.

MA in professional development/counseling, both from Dallas Baptist University. She and her husband Forrest have one daughter, Temple, who is a sophomore here.

Nancie began teaching at Grace in 1998. She has a BS in early childhood education from the University of Texas at Austin. She and her husband Bruce have four grown children and six grandchildren.
“Teaching at Grace provides an opportunity for me to share the truth of our nation’s Christian foundation and the development of U.S. history from a Christian perspective. As supervising instructor and part of the teaching team for our senior seminar, I get to help students strengthen their biblical worldview, connect what they believe with how they live their lives, and nurture a vision for their future based on personal conviction and godly character. I am continually blessed by the supportive relationships of other teachers and staff in our Grace Prep family.”

Stephanie began teaching at Grace in 2006. She has a BA in communications/journalism from the University of Texas at Arlington. Before joining us here, she worked for three years in freelance reporting, and then for nine years in marketing and advertising for the same company. In 2010, she completed an Adobe Photoshop course and a Journalism Advisor course through the University of Texas. She and her husband Greg have three children; Katy (12th grade), Hannah (10th grade), and Samuel (5th grade) all attend Grace.

Rachel began teaching at Grace in 2000. She has a BA in English education from the University of Texas at Arlington. She and her husband Lewis have been married for 20 years and are part of the pastoral staff at Shady Grove Church. They have three boys, Josh, Jacob, and Jonathan. Josh graduated from GPA in 2010 and Jacob is a senior here. Jonathan is a third grader at Wood Elementary.

Charlotte joined us in January of 2010. She has a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from Houghton College. She taught as a substitute for several years with the Mansfield ISD. She and her husband George have three Grace Prep students; Melissa is a sophomore, Brad is a freshman, and Josh is a 5th grader.

Suzy began teaching at GPA in 1996. Her children Scott, Jenny, and Katie all graduated from Grace in ‘99, ‘01, and ‘04, respectively. Suzy majored in Spanish and minored in art at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She has ESL (English Second Language) certification. She also has her WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certification and enjoys teaching swimming in the summer.

Meryl McClure

Meryl began teaching at Grace in 2007. Her qualifications include an AAS in graphic design technology, and both a bachelor's degree in general studies (with concentrations in math, English, and government) and an MA in teaching (with a math emphasis) from Texas Woman’s University. Meryl and her husband James celebrated six years of marriage and their daughter Charlotte's first birthday over this past summer.
“Working as part of a team and being surrounded by Christian mentors is truly uplifting. Grace gives me the unique opportunity to teach students about more than just an academic discipline; I get to share my faith, my experiences, and my life.”

Jackie O’Brien

Jackie began teaching at Grace in 1999. She has a BS in Christian education from Biola University, as well as additional K-8 teaching certification. She taught grades K-2 in California and grades 1-6 in Peru, South America, before teaching several elementary classes here. Jackie and her husband Kirby have three children; Darby and Kelly both attended Grace, and Casey is currently a senior. Jackie also leads our faculty prayer time; her favorite Scripture is Deuteronomy 6:4-9.

After teaching six years in a local elementary school, Laura joined us here in 2005. She has a BS in nursing from the University of California (Los Angeles), and a master's degree in education from the University of Texas at Arlington.
She and her husband Pete have two children. Colin graduated from Grace in 2008 and is currently a senior at Louisiana State University. Their daughter Haley graduated from Grace in 2010 and is a junior at Dallas Baptist University.

After coaching for a year at Grace, Katie joins our faculty this 2011-12 school year. She has a BA in Spanish and French education from Southeastern Louisiana University. She also studied at the University of Costa Rica for a semester and has previously taught and coached at Mansfield High School.

Lori began teaching at Grace in 2002. She has a BS in occupational therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She also home schooled her children for six years and has taken courses in yearbook design and development through Taylor Publishing. She and her husband Frank have two children, Elizabeth and James. Elizabeth is a 7th grader here.

Kurt Wetterling
Freshman English and Freshman History (World Studies I)

Kurt is back for his second year of teaching this year, but he has been involved with Grace Prep since its very beginnings. He has a BBA from UT Arlington and a 30-year career history in the fields of sales, marketing, and management. His two daughters, now grown, both attended Grace for most of their educations prior to college. Kendra graduated from Grace in 2002 and Texas A&M in 2006. She currently works for Ford Motor Co. in Denver. Karley graduated from Grace in 2004 and UT Arlington in 2010. She is currently a 1st grade teacher in the Houston area. Kurt's wife Robin has worked at Grace Prep since it was first established and is currently the Executive Assistant.
"Early in my career, I wanted to make all the decisions, so I went into management. Realizing how expensive two daughters can be, I returned to sales, so I could make all the dollars. Now I can finally do what I have a passion for: I teach at Grace Prep so I can make a difference. Could it get any better than that?"

Denise began teaching at Grace in 2005. She has a BBA from the University of Texas. She also taught several years in Mansfield schools and four years in a private pre-school and kindergarten before joining us. Her son Hunter is a freshman in college this year.

Jennifer began teaching at Grace in 2001. She has a BS in education from the University of North Texas and has completed graduate work toward an MA in interdisciplinary science from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her certifications include Composite Science (Texas State Board of Education), ESL (North American Missions Board), Gifted and Talented (Advanced Academic Services, Fort Worth Independent School District), AP Physics, and AP Chemistry. She taught several years in the Fort Worth ISD and in a private school in Louisiana before starting a family. She and her husband Danny have one married son, Cole, whom Jennifer taught science to at home for 9 years in addition to teaching biology, chemistry, and physics for their homeschool co-op.
