Kindergarten Now Offered at GPA!

Dear Kindergarten Family,

We are thrilled that you are considering Grace Preparatory Academy for your child’s education! We feel honored to have had the opportunity to bring the kindergarten program to our school, beginning in 2010-11. The program grew quickly in size, which necessitated adding a second class!

This age is such a foundational year for your child!  Our academic day covers Bible, scripture memory, phonics, letter and number writing, mathematics, journal time, science, social studies, art, and a weekly visit to the library. In addition to our regular curriculum, we also have fun days and special units of study such as "Clifford" Day, Opposite Day, and special days for all the colors of the rainbow. We also take adventures to Green Meadows Farm, have a lesson in pretzel making at Auntie Ann’s Pretzels, and visit Casa Mañana's children’s theater. The highlight of our program is the precious role that you as a parent can play as you follow the assigned work at home on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You will never regret spending more time with your child! We feel blessed to serve alongside you in educating your little one in these precious, formative years.

God Bless,

Christy Meinecke and Kelley Sawyer

  Frequentlly Asked Questions
Minimize

How long is their day?

Students are in class from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As we only meet two days a week, there is no scheduled nap time in our day.

What do we do at home on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday?

A weekly assignment sheet is sent home; it outlines both what we did in class on Tuesday and Thursday and what a parent will need to follow up with on the at-home days. For each home school day, you will complete a phonics lesson, a math lesson, handwriting, number writing, and either an art, social studies, or science assignment.

What is the cost?

$2369 for the school year

(Additional student and family fees apply. Please visit the Admissions/Tuition and Fees page on this site for details.)

Do I need to purchase curriculum?

The textbooks, journal, and workbooks are included in your required fees. You will receive a list of classroom supplies at kindergarten orientation.

What do the students do for lunch?

Your child can bring a lunch from home or order lunch from the school on Tuesday/Thursday. We eat lunch in our classroom.

Can I send a snack?

Your child is welcome to bring a healthy snack from home for a scheduled snack time. Each child is encouraged to bring a flip-top water bottle to school.
