Sandy Kelm Head Volleyball Coach
Sandy has been coaching at Grace since 1993. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in education (summa cum laude), has a Texas teaching certificate, and attended graduate school at the University of North Texas. She has previously taught and coached in the Leander and Arlington ISDs. As the varsity volleyball coach here, her teams have achieved the following honors: two years at the T-CAL State Tournament; 13 years in TAPPS, eight district titles, and seven state Final Four appearances. Coach Kelm has received numerous coaching awards from newspapers, as well as TAPPS recognition. She has been named TAPPS District Coach of the Year eight times and has served as Coach of the All-Stars.
Sandy and her husband of 30 years, Randy (also a UT alumnus), have three children who are GPA alumni. Sara (‘99) is in her sixth year teaching 5th grade in Mansfield ISD and is in her fourth year of Law School at Texas Wesleyan. Zachary (‘01) is in the MD/PHD program at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Nathaniel (‘07) is a sophomore majoring in engineering at Baylor University.
Sandy enjoys being at GPA because of the Christ-centered environment and the great parent support.
“I desire to see each student reach her potential and become a strong Christian leader. My goal is to help GPA offer the best environment and opportunity for students to be able to excel in their Christian walk as they pursue their life goals.”
