Campus Life

As the director of student activities, I have seen first-hand how students who "get involved" have a more well-rounded educational experience because they have opportunities outside of the classroom to practice vital life skills that help them develop into mature character witnesses for Christ. Toward that end, our student activities stem from a four-fold purpose. First, as students plan and coordinate various events and service projects, they learn how to successfully communicate, cooperate, and collaborate as a team in pursuit of a common goal. Secondly, they have ample opportunity to grow in servant leadership, the kind of leading that seeks to place another's needs ahead of one's own, just as "Christ came not to be served but to serve others and give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28). A third purpose naturally flows from building teamwork and servant-leadership skills: students have an avenue to demonstrate outwardly what Christ is doing inwardly. As students continue to develop into character witnesses for Christ, student activities offer an opportunity for them to put "flesh" on their faith, taking the message of Christ's love and grace into the community. Finally, our activities provide students with fun and wholesome recreational opportunities to develop healthy friendships built upon Christian values. Of course, none of these student activities would look any different from any other school without the purposeful spiritual formation of our students as outlined in the character-driven goals of Revolution of Grace. Please be sure to visit that page, as well as our Student Organizations page which highlights just a few of the many ways our students can get involved. Parents are equally essential to our community and have ample opportunity to serve and connect through our Parent/Teacher Fellowship. Our hope is that as you browse our Campus Life pages, you will readily see that Grace Prep is a community intent on building life connections on many different levels with students, teachers, and parents...outside of the classroom!
