Pizza Hut® Book It!® Reading Program

Book It!® is a reading incentive program that Pizza Hut® has sponsored since 1985. It is currently used by more than 50,000 elementary schools nationwide. At our school, the program kicks off in October and runs through March 31. Just pick up a reading log from the library if you do not receive one from your child’s teacher. When the log is complete, make sure your child turns it in to the library, and he/she will receive a certificate for a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza. Logs must be turned in by the 25th of each month to receive a certificate for that month. If a log is turned in after the 25th, it will count toward the NEXT month. Certificates are good for 30 days from receipt. Only one certificate can be redeemed per visit. When you take the first certificate to Pizza Hut®, your child will also receive a backpack clip and a new sticker for each additional reading goal that is achieved. For more information about the program, please visit www.bookitprogram.com.

December Certificates: Due to our break for the holiday, logs must be turned in no later than Dec. 13th to receive a certificate for December.

A few additional notes about how it works:

  • Books read for class don't count.

  • Blue and Gold Reading Program Books and Bible study books do count.

  • Newspapers, magazines, and graphic novels do count.

  • Parents may read to children, children may read to parents, and siblings may read to each other.

  • All elementary students are invited to participate, as well as homeschooled students.

  • Reading logs must be turned in to the library (not to the teachers).
