Our Athletics Department is transitioning to the use of an extensive communication system for parents of athletes. This website, http://www.highschoolsports.net, gives users up-to-date information on a daily basis and includes several tools that allow parents to plan more efficiently.

Some of those features include:

• The ability to view calendar in a 2-day, week or month view,

• Color-coding for practices and home\away games,

• Detailed information on each event, including times, locations, transportation, departure times, early releases and directions to sites,

• Automatic notification of changes made to games via e-mail, cell phone or PDA,

• Updated scores and stats from individual games, and

• Listings of most school and TAPPS events as well!

How To Use Highschoolsports.net:

First, you will need to create a free account and sign up for your team as each season begins. (Otherwise, you will be receiving e-mail notifications when our Athletics Department inputs game schedules before the sport is even in season.)

Signing up is an easy process. It takes about five minutes to complete. Please follow the steps below:

1. Go to http://www.highschoolsports.net/portal.cfm?schoolid=TX7601714910&timeoffset=300. This will take you to the main calendar for our school in 2-day view.

2. In the toolbar at the top of the page, click on the “sign in” button. This is where you will create your free account and customize the website to fit your personal needs.

3. Click on the "Join Today" button on the left side of the screen. Fill in the information needed, the click on the "submit" button.

4. Select the "My Teams" button in the toolbar.

5. Select the "More Schools" link. Choose Grace Prep High School.

6. Select which teams you want to subscribe to for game-change notifications.

7. Each team you select has three options next to it:

Notifications allows you to receive an email if game times, locations, etc. have changed.  Be sure to “uncheck” the boxes marked “scores and stats." Final scores are listed automatically on the main page and stats are updated many times a week. When you leave these boxes checked you will receive an email each time they are updated.

Email simply shows your email address where notifications will be sent. You can edit your address in this option.

Custom Calendar is an option, but not one we recommend (especially if you are involved in more than one sport). A custom calendar will not allow you to see any other sporting events or school events on the site.

8. When you have finished, simply click the “home” button in the top toolbar, then “my schedules,” and you are ready to go!

There are many additional features that you will come to love as you explore the website. If you click on any team name in red, it will lead you to Mapquest for directions.

Sometimes schools play at different sites off campus. To that end, our Athletics Department will utilize a feature to help you locate those venues. When you look at the 2-day view, you will sometimes see a red thumbtack next to an opponent’s school name. This feature allows us to enter directions "by hand" for those games being played “off site." If you will click on that thumbtack, you will get directions to the correct venue.
