Johnathan Bryant
Head Baseball Coach
This spring marks Johnathan's first year as Head Baseball Coach for GPA. He was our assistant head coach/pitching coach last year. He has also been coaching a select baseball team for the past 3 years.
Coach Bryant was drafted out of high school by the San Diego Padres, but he chose to attend McLennan Junior College in Waco, TX, where he played baseball and earned an associate's degree. He continued his schooling at Delta State University where he continued to play baseball; while there, they won a Division II National Championship. He finished up his schooling at the University of Texas at Tyler where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. After college, he continued to play baseball professionally for various teams in places like California, Calgary (Canada), and Chicago.
Johnathan married his beautiful wife Shanna on January 19, 2010. They also learned recently that they are expecting their first child. As he begins his own family, Johnathan is excited about the opportunities he has to plug in to the lives of the kids in our GPA family.
"I saw the opportunity to influence many young men into becoming harder-working, team-oriented, successful, and respectful people. Grace Prep has this “family” atmosphere about it that I love, and the fact that we as coaches get to join these kids in their walk of faith was really what did it for me."
