Derrick Duke

Board Chairman

 

 

Derrick A. Duke is the Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer and Treasurer of HealthMarkets. Prior to joining HealthMarkets, Derrick served as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for National Health Insurance Company for 15 years. Derrick received his MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and his BBA in Finance from Hardin Simmons University. In addition, Derrick is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has served as an adjunct professor at Dallas Baptist University and as a guest lecturer at UTA.

 

Derrick has been married to his wife Julee for 21 years. They have four children, three of whom are at Grace: Sarah Beth is a senior, and twins Katy and Emily are freshmen. The Duke family worships at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington where Derrick is currently a deacon and has served as Chairman of the Deacons and on the finance committee. In addition, Julee currently serves as a teacher in the junior high youth group at Fielder Road.

Bill Eubanks

Bill Eubanks

 

 

Bill Eubanks has served as the senior pastor of Grand Prairie Bible Church since 1994. He studied finance and accounting at Southern Methodist University, law at the University of Arkansas School of Law, and theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. His passions include his family, discipling men, and reading. He founded Legacy of Light, a seminar and exhibit ministry demonstrating the history and reliability of God's Word. Bill is married to Fran, whose life and witness drew him to Christ in September, 1978. Their three children have all graduated from Grace Prep. They have two daughters, Helen (2007) and Janette (2009). Their son, Will (2000), is married to Kerrie, and has given them twin granddaughters.

Ron Hagan

 

 

 Ron W. Hagan is passionate about building Kingdom-minded communities and living in Jesus’ promise of John 10:10.  He serves as Executive Vice President of Roland|Criss, the leading independent provider of fiduciary protection and certification programs for public pension systems, corporate retirement plans, and foundations.


Prior to joining Roland|Criss in 2001, Ron served as a corporate development specialist in the healthcare sector. He was instrumental in serving the boards of directors and shareholders for two publicly traded healthcare companies.

Ron served as the Director of Corporate Development for Concentra, Inc., which today is the nation's leading comprehensive outsource solution for containing healthcare and disability costs. He was responsible for the acquisition of occupational health practices and developing joint venture partnerships with industry leading hospitals. Prior to his work with Concentra, Ron served in a similar capacity with Monarch Dental Corporation, a consolidator of group dental practices. He was responsible for the implementation of Monarch's acquisition strategy throughout the United States.


Ron received a Bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University, where he was a four-year letterman for the SMU football team and played strong safety for Forrest Gregg.


Ron is married to Karla, a talented teacher, writer, and student of spiritual formation.  Ron and Karla are blessed with three spiritual champions who attend GPA: Maya (4th grade), Ada (4th grade), and Carson (3rd grade).  In addition to discipling their children, Ron and Karla enjoy coaching soccer and baseball; serving World Orphans and Pais Project in an advisory capacity; cooking Saturday morning breakfasts; four-wheeling in the mountains; connecting people; singing Seeds Family Worship songs; reading Brennan Manning, Pres Gillham, John Eldredge, Richard Foster, and the spiritual classics; enjoying long runs, long bike rides, and long dinners with friends; living out Matthew 11:28-30 from The Message; and seeing, seeking, and savoring the Life that is Truly Life (John 10:10).

Bob Mann

 

 

Raised and trained in New England, Dr. Mann moved to Texas as an Air Force neonatologist, setting up a pediatric practice in Arlington in 1971.  He has been with Cook Children's for 15 years, where he now serves as a senior physician. During his career, he has served on numerous boards, including a KERA board, Ft. Worth Opera, and Arlington Civic Chorus (chair).  He has been a vice president of Texas Baptist Men and has served with them on medical missions to Ukraine, Turkey, Northern Iraq and Kosovo/Albania. He and Angie, his wife of 48 years, also participated in a mission trip to Thailand. He has been a deacon and has served on numerous church boards and committees. He is a founding board member of Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex, where a medical clinic that he began is named in his honor. He has served on a number of boards at Cook Children's, including finance chair of the physician group. He has been awarded the Servant-Leadership Award by Cook Children's and the Humanitarian Award by the Tarrant County Medical Society.  He has served for 20 years on the Physician Resource Council of Focus on the Family, including four years as chair. He also helped co-author Focus's Baby and Child Care book and participated in writing other books for Focus.
 

Dr. Mann (who goes by "Bob") and Angie attend Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco. They remain committed to Christian education, of which they are both products. Bob and Angie have two married children, Brad, and Jenny Craig, who teaches Literary Explorations at Grace. The Manns are also
extremely proud of their three "Lady Lion" granddaughters and are convinced that due to their family's efforts, and in part to their education at Grace Prep, they will have an impact on their generation.

Timothy B. Noe

Timothy B. Noe

Secretary

 

 

Mr. Noe has in excess of 17 years experience in senior management in the technology industry. Since September of 2003, he has held the position of Area Vice President of Sales for Oracle Corporation. His responsibilities include all state and local sales for a 26-state Eastern Region. Prior to joining Oracle, Mr. Noe served as CEO/Chairman of Mercantec, Inc., a Venture backed software company, from January 2001 to August 2003. Mr. Noe went to Mercantec to serve as Executive Vice President of Global Sales from Divine InterVentures, Inc., a venture capital firm, in March of 2000. At Divine, Mr. Noe served as Vice President of Outsourced Services. Prior to his tenure at Divine, Mr. Noe held vice president positions with Acta Technology, Inc., Computer Associates, Inc., Platinum Technology, Inc., and SunGard Data Systems, Inc. Prior to his career in technology, Mr. Noe spent six years in the banking industry as a commercial lender with several large financial institutions, such as Texas Commerce Bank and NationsBank. Mr. Noe earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from Texas Tech University. Tim and his wife Gennie have been married for 21 years and have three daughters, Evan, Allie, and Macy Pearl, all of whom have attended or are currently students at GPA. Tim, Gennie and family are members of Fielder Road Baptist Church where Tim recently accepted a position to serve on the church’s missions committee.

Mark Smith

Treasurer

 

Mark is a private equity investor with Valesco Industries in Dallas. Prior to joining Valesco, he was part of the senior management team at Daydots, Inc., in Fort Worth, first as CFO/COO and then as General Manager, after the company was acquired by Ecolab, Inc., in 2004. He began his career in commercial banking with Bank One (now Chase) in 1988. Mark earned his BBA in Finance from Baylor University in 1987, and after working for ten years, returned to obtain his Master's Degree through Baylor’s Executive MBA program at the Cooper Center in Dallas.

 

Mark and his wife, Wendy, have been married for 21 years. Wendy is a physical therapist as well as a talented musician. She works with Grace Prep students in leading the Revolution of Grace worship team and in producing elementary Christmas musicals.

 

Mark and Wendy have four children: Jessica (who grew up in Canada and joined the Smith family in 2002) and  Allison, Hannah, and Lance, all of whom currently attend GPA. They worship together at Connect Church in Arlington where Mark serves as an elder and Wendy is part of the worship leadership team.

Paul Storm

Paul Storm

Vice Chairman

 

 

Paul graduated 1980 with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in chemical engineering. In 1990, he graduated in the top third of his class from the University of Texas School of Law. Between degrees, Paul was an engineer for IBM. After receiving his law degree and working for other firms, Paul formed his own law firm, Storm LLP, which specializes in intellectual property.  Paul’s practice focuses on litigation of intellectual property matters.  He is happily married to Johanna, his best friend and confidant for 27 years. They have 7 children, three of which have graduated from Grace Prep. Of the four remaining at home, three are receiving their education from Grace Prep. Life is full of love, happiness and surprises for the Storm family and in their leisure time, they enjoy being together as a family. Paul takes lots of photographs to capture their memories.

Darryl Thornton

 

 Darryl Thornton is the Chief Administrative Officer for the St. John Church of Grand Prairie/Southlake. His professional leadership experience includes senior management positions with various companies including BELO, the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, the Associates First Capital Corporation, Frito-Lay Inc., and Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

 

Thornton has held leadership positions on various boards in the DFW community, including the YMCA, the Plano Economic Development Board, Dallas Urban League, United Negro College Fund of Dallas, and Big Brothers and Sisters of Dallas County. He is a life member of Boys and Girls Clubs of America and a life member and former national board member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He currently serves on the boards of The University of North Texas and the Kingdom Partnerships for Empowerment & Development.

A graduate of the University of North Texas, his executive education includes the UNC–Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Thornton has been recognized by the Minority Business News of Texas as an Influential African American in Texas and former Governor Ann Richards for his civic and community leadership. He has received a number of awards, including the 2005 University of North Texas Distinguished Alumnus from the College of Business Administration and the Dallas Urban League Guild's 21st Century's Most Promising Leader. He has served as President of the Minority Human Resources Association and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.  His professional affiliations also include the Leadership Dallas Alumni Association, Dallas Human Resources Management Association, the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, and the National Association of Church Business Administration.

 

Darryl’s personal mission is to be the best Christian, husband, father, leader and role model possible.  He has chosen to make a difference and demonstrates his leadership ability through his organizational affiliations and his dedicated involvement in the Dallas community. His latest accomplishment is his recently published work, Enough is Enough:  A Wake up Call to Men.  Darryl and his wife Yvonne have three sons, Frederick, Joshua, and Micah.
